I had the pleasure of meeting Angie McMahon at an open house. I walked into a large house that needed a lot of repairs. I said, “ I wish you luck selling this house!” Angie listened to my negative comments (what a mess, look at the work, this will cost a fortune to fix up) and then told me that you never know where somebody is at in their life. She stated, “What is considered work for one person can be an exciting adventure to another.” She was right! There was a time in my life when I would have viewed fixing any house up as fun and now it would be considered work. I knew at that moment there was something different about this agent. I originally did not intend to buy any real estate. After meeting with my accountant, I decided to do a 1031 tax exchange. I called Angie to ask what she knew about this IRS tax deferred program. The next day we met and she explained all the details involved and was a wealth of information. We had a six-week time limit to identify 3 properties I would purchase. Properties were located; offers were made, countered and accepted. I believe this is when Angie’s work really began.
